MAHARASTHRA DEPUTY CM PUSHES FOR SELF RE-DEVELOPMENT SCHEME FOR CO-OPERATIVE HOUSING SOCIETIES.

Deputy Chief Minster, Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said that the Maharashtra Government is planning to start and set up a single window system for obtaining various clearances for housing projects which are going for self- redevelopment. The Deputy Chief Minster further hinted towards the implementation of the Government Resolution dated 11th September 2019 (“Government Resolution of 2019”) which was previously introduced by him in his then capacity as the Chief Minister of State.

The Government Resolution of 2019 was introduced, however the said resolution was never implemented and remained only on paper, thus causing a lot of uncertainity and confusion among societies intending to self-develop availing the benefits stated in the said Resolution of 2019. With the Deputy Chief Minster’s fresh statement on implementation and application of the Government Resolution of 2019, one can hope that, self- redevelopment of all registered co-operative housing societies on the government/semi government/private land, may be incentivized and expedited, sooner rather than later.

The said Government Resolution of 2019 can be accessed here.
